A brief history of the SCGMD series
With its very first game made as a FlashPortal contest entry, the Super Crazy Guitar Maniac Deluxe game was released on Newgrounds on May 2, 2006. Though it hardly gained enough popularity, Shinki Productions took the original concept and reworked it to create Super Crazy Guitar Maniac Deluxe 2, with over a dozen songs and 6 guitars to unlock and choose from. By the time SCGMD2 was released on August 30, 2008, it grew and grew in popularity, eventually propelling it to have a third and final release.
Its popularity gradually waned over time, until a new video game company called Second Impact Games found the game series and started to develop a fourth game. The fourth title in the series quickly brought the SCGMD series back into its former glory, with a fairly large fanbase on Newgrounds and Kongregate. With 14 guitars, 18 songs, and 55 achievements, the series' comeback in popularity came as no surprise with the plethora of brand-new features and songs.
